Charente. Near the border with Charente Maritime which extends to the Atlantic coast.

An hour and a half north from Bordeaux, an hour or so from Limoges and Poitiers airports or a days drive from the channel ports. 50 minutes north of Angouleme, similar out to La Rochelle and the beaches.

 

Nearest shops are in Aigre about 10 minutes drive away. Le Buchet is a village of farms and houses arranged around just a couple of roads,  a tiny, quiet, friendly community like hundreds of others in France.

Surroundings are rolling arable farmland of vines, sunflowers or maize, interspersed with patches of woodland and a few wind turbines. It is perhaps most notable for being unnotable.
