Law of unintended consequences

You buy a house and quickly work out that it will need stuff.

The list of needed stuff grows and grows until you realise that a van to put it all in might be an idea.

Now you have a van another easy logical step follows: - 'We've got a van. We might as well buy a sofa, some mattresses, a set of ladders, 100 liters of paint, light bulbs - because they don't have those in France, ...' and soon the van fills up. Next a roof rack, and quickly after that a tow bar.

To try and curb this runaway shopping spree our ebay searches began to include 'Used' and we applied that to our wish for a trailer. An unintended consequential leap lead to the idea of a horse box and because we're doing things on the cheap 'lowest price first' was followed by an expensive collection trip to Cardiff. (£13.50 to get a van across the bridge!)

The unsurprisingly shabby and, to be honest unsafe state, of our new ex-horse box (or is 'xbox -horse' more French?) dictated swift action before it could serve as restored transport for a French house restoration. Then part way through the work I accidentally sliced my thumb with the grinder.

From French house via horse box restoration to NHS walk in. Who knew?

'Sandstone' and 'Slate Grey' paint colours were chosen for the house exterior but it made sense to test them out on the trailer and make sure we like them enough.

Fortunately, we do.
