Two weeks of great help, great progress, great fun and a transition phase from work site into comfortable, habitable holiday space - which was a bit shocking, but what now..?
..A long, long list of finishing off, snagging and tidying up, stuff:
Hang picture on stairs.
Fix curtain pole in bedroom
Paint hallway and fit lamp shade
Hanging rail up in utility room (forgotten we’d bought one)
Cut bathroom door so that it moves again
Threshold strip into bedroom
Borrow Mick's Stillsons for waste pipe refit
Touch up patch next to down pipe outside kitchen
Burn old soffit boards
Return Mick’s Acrow props
Vacuum van cab
Condemn used paint brushes, rollers and trays
Re-site stove (again) slightly left and turn 6 degrees
Etc.
None of them exciting, all need doing so it’s just a case of ticking them off one a time and keeping going. Ten items per day is the goal.
A contrast to the weeks, months, of big ticket challenges but the environment to work in is much more pleasant. Even though keeping it all clean takes time.
Practice has made stacking the scaffolding into the van much neater when it is moved back to it's home underneath this nest in the piggery-
The two young ones aren't bothered by my clanging around just watch with interest, while mum and dad sulk on the wire outside, so that's two pairs hatched and another mum on eggs in a nest above where the drill lives.
Messy, but the buzzards are getting excited.
