Tool review warning:-
What a brilliant little thing this has turned out to be.-
From charitable purchase (nobody wanted it) the Uno has become a hard to do without asset. It has zipped about on local errands, done without a wash beyond being rained on occasionally, barely uses any fuel, oil or much attention of any sort.
Not without rattles, blemishes or minor rust but excellent to drive. - It does without power steering, anti-roll bars or a fifth gear, but more importantly has an airy cabin, latin brio, surprising pace on these roads and dependability. -
I realised afterwards that we’d loaded it with four people plus luggage for the five hour round trip to Bergerac and back, without a second thought.
Back seat passengers are much better accommodated than in the 3 Series- everyone can see the views and talk front to back. The sunroof leaks a bit if it rains overnight, the rear washer pipe has fallen off, ancient but well treaded tyres are amusing in the wet and the radio antenna is only for show but no complaints they are the first keys to be reached for.
Although the sticker says "new" it is hard to believe the truth of twenty seven years old and even harder to understand why they don’t make them like this anymore.
A great, fun, bargain.
